Last night Rick Weible, Col. Shawn, and Pablo were on an X/twitter space hosted again by Razi Berry (Phenom).
Aside from the various explanations we are familiar with about risks and vulnerabilities to digital, electronic, and internet-connected systems, Rick shared one anecdote that stood out.
He said,
When I met with Erik a couple years back I shared my hesitation about becoming a leader. Then my dad died last year. In his eulogy I spoke about how he was a lighthouse to me and others. Then I realized I needed to be that as well.
I remember meeting with Rick shortly after this happened and could sense a change in him. Earlier that evening in April 2024 he’d given a presentation in Monticello. After the meeting golf ball hail dented cars. We had just come from a post-meeting meal, it was dark and the sky had cleared a bit.
Rick said we needed to return to the pre-Civil War America in terms of self-reliance. That struck me as true. It’s not about waiting for someone else to do something. Pick yourself up and figure it out.
That’s what Rick had done. He’d acquired election equipment from three of the major vendors and learned how they worked first hand. He’d helped show us how to interact with county commissioners and county staff, starting in Dakota County. Then other counties, Wright, Sherburne, Anoka. Towns too, like Haven, in Sherburne, where I plan to return to on July 15 to share an option the township has to have their precincts be included in Sherburne County’s post election review in November (no precinct is ever guaranteed to be included, but cities and townships can change that).
Col. Shawn Smith also spoke a bit on the call and mentioned he sleeps very well—from his Air Force days—but also I read that as that he has hope and so should we all.
I first met Shawn on Day 1 of The Moment of Truth Summit in Springfield, MO, in 2022. He asked, Who are you?
On the call last night Shawn made the point that, It had to be this way. Meaning that many, many people locally had to step up.
Rick and Shawn and so many others have been a light for me and you.
Join us in reclaiming control of our government, starting with elections, in this new space for all Minnesotans.
Love this, and it has been my privilege and honor to meet many of the most selfless, driven, amazing people in this movement, of which you are one Erik! May God use our efforts to bring about change, honoring Him.
