reading this briefly reminded me that even in local case there has been a shift toward covering up and protection
note that where many/most of my data requests to hennepin county go unanswered a long time, and then are given ‘no responsive data’ responses, even when there are 34 employees in election division, paid collectively over $1M annually, and the MNOSS has more than $20M annual budget, they cannot provide basic things like copies of emails sent between departments nor receipts for election data that is public, even saying they don’t have data which if they don’t have it means they ran an election with major violations of the law
this is same hennepin county that for 40 days straight violated absentee ballot laws in 2024, and the director is still the director
my questions have been about electronic poll pads, and i’m now confident a pilot was run where they bought and used the ballot-printing electronic poll pads from KNOWiNK… imagine being able to print ballots just after polls close (or anytime at all during election day)
it took 5 months for them to give me a pdf of training materials confirming that ballot-printing electronic poll pad pilot, lol, and they are trying not to give me the results or locations because according to deputy election manager the pilot was not ‘complete’
one guess i have is that many responses back to me have to be routed through hennepin county attorney first, which slows down response time
as martin has stated in this article, i want basic answers and want those 34 hennepin county election division workers to know they are getting caught up potentially in a tough situation
okay have a great day!
last point: this turtling up suggests things are going well for basic injustices to be reversed, though the conditions being readied for this i don’t have information on, only guesses… meantime i’ll keep sharing what is learned and asking and giving those on inside of these bad systems a chance to help, because i think it’s a good option for many of them
