Federal election crime? (Minnesota)
Call audio from 2022... Data should be retained for 22 months according to 52 USC §20701 and §20702
Back in 2022 while calling a few auditors I learned a lot.
This following call took place on June 24, 2022—yes, same day as down goes Roe v Wade and 2 years prior to Julian Assange’s release.
In this call (BOTTOM OF EMAIL) with Chisago County you will hear:
That Hart Intercivic has done a software security update
That the CVR is no longer available because the election was archived
The CVR report will be pulled for the Aug 2022 primary election - it was (this was the first Minnesota CVR I saw; Fillmore from 2020 came just a bit later in September)
52 USC §20701 is about retention of election records and 52 USC §20702 says they cannot be stolen, destroyed, concealed, mutilated, or altered.
This phone call (BELOW) was a big deal and I thought I’d lost this audio until today.
Since then, the ballot images (pictures of all the ballots when scanned) have been made ‘non-public’ by the 93rd Minnesota Legislature (2023) in essence to hide them from public view.
Why? Because… If one has:
ballot images,
the CVR file (basically an excel file), and
the ballots,
…then one can review THREE reference points during an audit.
Why do we want to audit everything except elections?
This call feels like a long time ago—main point comes at 2m01s - 2m22s.
“…with the security upgrades we’ve done, that Hart has done, … we can’t go back…”
Please feel free to save this audio for your records.
Also feel free to ask your county/city/town why they are still planning to use electronic voting equipment.
And if they are, what ways they are keeping these records safe through the entire election process, which starts well before the 46-day early voting period with machine and thumb-drive programming… all the way through the data transfers on and after election day while the public waits on the edge of their seats for the results to be published…
This call was on June 24, 2022, ahead of the 22-month required retention of records.
