as child, lived in gabon, where for awhile there was really only one party (according to my mom’s christmas letter from 1990), then indonesia, where in 1998 the 30-year president resigned after millions took streets, then beijing (2005), former tartarian city?, where there was since 1949 only one party (CCP) and i don’t recall there even being voting/elections—certainly non-citizens like me couldn’t vote if there were…
the history of mn elections is like many states/countries, full of rigging and contention… just look at first ever governor election in 1800s which was probably rigged (according to newspapers at the time)
are we stuck in this cycle of rigging? i think not
instead, why not make our elections BEAUTIFUL
here’s a start (includes high school student auditing!)
south dakota is showing how to get legislation and new bills proposed, discussed, and voted upon—one of their bills focuses on only allowing south dakota residents to vote, imagine! we are getting somewhere now by starting with basics instead of letting those who say, “it’s a threat to our bureaucracy!” win the day
diversion: chaotic times but small aimful groups can succeed in such environments - just as letters of marque during 1812 allowed privateers to take down naval vessels… imagine if same was used to help bring down the cartels by incentivizing ex-military/special-forces-type people to disrupt cartel supply lines, for just one example
practice armed self defense daily, even if not with firearms, and be situationally aware of local and larger picture (clif_high audio)
back to voting days/months… in case you missed it, during a county-wide propaganda session with attendance from all cities, about half the event was given to the anoka county elections manager to say he loves el-ectronic poll pads… among other points, he mentions it’s nice that there’s a portal to access precinct-level data…
me, i don’t like el-ectronic poll pads because they allow rigging with mail-in ballots with precision and the company history seems analogous to lifelog which became facebook but was not a zuckerberg invention but rather a DARPA project from the beginning
