I first remember getting a note from Bret when he was running for Senate in 2022 - he had posted a few videos about election integrity, long before many who wanted to be public servants were discussing it.
Now he’s going for MNGOP Chair and this video interview touches on a few of the highlights from recent years and direction he’d like to go and how he would like to lead—servant leadership.
I think information flow is critical in any organization and I like the sound of the online portal to facilitate that.
Meanwhile, the usual people appear to be trying to stop Bret from even becoming a candidate in Saturday’s vote using the lever of the nominations committee, where a small group with little transparency decides whether someone is qualified, qualified with reservations, or not qualified, in order to steer non-thinking delegates.
Such deception in coming weeks and months is likely to be an even worse approach than it already has been. Generally because lies catch up to those who deploy them.
On that note, I’m hearing of lie-detector AI apps coming soon which can suggest when someone is lying based not on the content of their speech but based on their voice: these should make things interesting although they might seize up or be overloaded at political events.
Who knows how Saturday’s vote will go—it depends on which delegates and alternates, who can also be seated depending on delegate turnout, show up and how they vote.
I really respect Bret. He is an honest, fair, caring and hard working man. I just started working with him over the summer for the Royce White Campaign, Guard the Ballot, assisting the Helene hurricane victims (which he drove his own truck and trailer down there x2) with donations and the Save MN Rally-- the Saturday before the Election. Bret is great. He is focused. Sticks to the job; yet always has time to consider the underdog or assist someone who needs his help.
